  • Customer support

    This customer-facing department provides effective support to new and existing customers.

    They work with all business units across the organisation to create service level agreements, work on subscriptions renewals, provide technical support, administration and invoicing.

    Roles range from Contact Centre Agent to Head of Customer Support and Team Coordinator.

  • Data and analytics

    All our work is derived from evidence-based decision making. This way of working acts as an enabler for our strategic framework to help health professionals make better decisions. 

    As part of our Technology department, we work across the business to serve the needs of the technology, marketing and editorial departments.  

    Roles include Data Engineer, Digital Analytics Manager, and Reporting Analyst.

  • Editorial

    One of the world’s top four general medical journals, The BMJ is free for BMA members and subscribed to by doctors all over the world.

    It can be many things to its readers: an international research journal, a member magazine, a think tank, an investigative campaigner, or an educational resource. 

    Roles range from Clinical Editor to News Reporter and Technical Editor. 

  • Events

    For more than 30 years, we have partnered with other leading institutions or independently hosted large-scale conferences, careers fairs, forums and award ceremonies.

    From London to Gothenburg to Taipei to Melbourne, they include the biggest conference of its kind, the  International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, as well as the very popular BMJ Masterclasses, The BMJ AwardsBMJ Live, and Leaders in Healthcare.

    Roles range from Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Manager to Conference Producer and Senior Event Coordinator.

  • HR

    People are the core of BMJ’s culture. With learning and development and diversity and inclusion at the top of our agenda, we work hard to recruit and retain the best talent.

    Our HR teams are adaptable, creative and passionate about making sure BMJ is a great place to work.

    We work on everything people-related to handle matters such as recruitment, payroll, employment policies and benefits.

    Roles include diversity and inclusion, pensions, learning and development managers.

  • Marketing

    The main role of this department is to communicate our vision of creating a healthier world. It is also where you can put your creativity and analytical abilities to good use.

    Marketing is made up of several teams who are individually responsible for supporting our institutional customers, digital marketing, media relations, internal communications, and brand management.

    Roles range from Marketing Assistant to Senior Media Relations Executive and Strategic Marketing Manager. 

  • Publishing

    We partner with royal colleges and leading scholarly and professional medical organisations to publish some of the world’s most influential journals.

    Increasingly, the majority of BMJ’s 75 journals are becoming open access. This means authors can have their research distributed online for free. It extends the reach so the best research can now reach the right people. It is an exciting time to be a part of our publishing team. 

    Roles range from publishers and data analysts to contract experts and administrators.

  • Sales

    As we continue to globalise our business and expand our commercial activities, our sales team drives sales, develops deeper market understanding, and identifies new and exciting opportunities for BMJ.

    With teams based all around the world, remotely and in our seven international offices,  there is huge scope for opportunities based in, around, and outside of the UK.

    Roles range from Sales Manager to Head of Sponsorship and Digital Sales Executive. 

  • Technology

    Our Tech team isn’t just a service department; we have a more direct role in driving digital transformation.

    We take an agile approach to product development and everything we create has our customers’ needs at the core.  

    Our projects benefit more than 10 million users every month. 

    Roles range from Developer, Designers, Testers, Project Manager, Business Analyst and System Administrator.
